𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍?

Thunder teams are groups of keenly interested ball players and their coaching staff who wish to represent the City of Medicine Hat and the Medicine Hat Minor Softball Association at tournaments and events outside of Medicine Hat. They will strive to achieve their highest personal goals, and team goals representing their community. Thunder teams are created through fair assessments.

U11-U13 must continue to play within house league (2x week) and often have 1-2 additional practices a week with their Thunder team.
U15 must continue to play within house league (1x week) and often have 1-2 additional practices a week with their Thunder team.
U17-U19 Thunder players have the option to play house league and often have 1-2 additional practices a week with their Thunder team.

🚨IMPORTANT - all Thunder activity is OPTIONAL until the min, Jan. 31. As a smaller community, we must remain cognizant of athlete burn out and MULTI SPORT athlete commitments.

As a team they will decide to attend tournaments or arrange for exhibition play. Their season extends into July and sometimes Aug depending on post provincial play.

📍MHMSA Thunder teams in the C & D category play within the 3 weekend SASS Series.
📍MHMSA Thunder teams in U13 & U15 A/B categories will play in the 3 Softball Alberta provincial tiering weekends (PTW).
📍MHMSA Thunder aims to have a U19 and U17 team that will compete at the competitive A/B level.

*There are 2 assessment slots per age division, athletes may attend both, and MUST attend 1
*There is 1 pitching/catching assessments per/age division, optional
