Update May 11th regarding the 2020 MHMSA house league season.
Medicine Hat Minor Softball families, players and coaches.
Due to COVID-19, the restrictions in place regarding social distancing and groups #s remaining under 15 plus the cancellation of all diamond facilities by the City of Medicine Hat, the MHMSA executive regretfully has cancelled the 2020 softball/fastball season.
We were very hopeful for a modified season and had great feedback from families WANTING to play. Softball Alberta has a committee working to develop Rules for Return to Play, which is a glimmer of hope that perhaps we will be able to host some degree of skill development, camp or clinic in months to come.
Refunds will be mass processed by May 31st, however please note online processing and mail delivery may take weeks and our registration/treasurer team is made up of VOLUNTEERS.
We ask for patience.
All refunds are subject to a $5/per player administration fee. As MHMSA is a non-profit youth sport association, we are hoping our membership understands costs were incurred for the 2020 season, plus stamps, cheques, envelopes and processing fees are now season loss expenses.
As a highlight, please remain engaged with our social media platforms. To celebrate our sport and shine light on the athletes who have lost a season, we will be having an 8 week, weekly online contest, details to come and prizes to be announced next week.
The beauty of the game, is you CAN play catch anywhere, kids can entertain themselves with a ball and a bat, families young to old CAN play games and the city diamonds remain open to all of you to play.
We trust you’ll be eager to play in 2021 and we will be ready to bring the game back to diamonds around our city.
